Cherubs is managed by me, Vindhyeshwari Kumari Sharma, an Interior Designer trained in India and Europe. Having worked with renowned designers of national and international repute, I have acquired rich experience in all aspects of designing various types of projects like Clubhouses, Offices, Farmhouses, Residences, Hospitals, Restaurants and Hotels, Schools and Museums throughout the country. My training and passion for experimenting with new mediums, materials and techniques to create new designs with a difference, prompted me to explore new avenues. My family background connected me with artistes and craftsmen practicing various art forms and skills through long standing traditions. Preserving, encouraging and supporting these old art forms and skills, virtually on the brink of extinction due to lack of patronage and mass produced objects, offered my creative instincts new challenges and has become a mission for me.

The traditional art of Thewa, being practiced for centuries in the princely states of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, the age-old techniques of block and Khadi printing, chikan work from Lucknow in North India, art of making cotton durries on hand looms in Rajasthan and North India, each unique and one of its kind, exclusive furnishings, are some areas on which I am currently concentrating, in addition to my career as an interior designer. It is a fascinating experience to watch the artistes and craftsmen create beautiful and exquisite works of art using simple tools and techniques which have been handed down from one generation to another.

The techniques look simple but require extreme skill, experience and expertise and an eye for detail and a very fertile imagination. The result of a mixture of these is often the creation of objects of rare beauty and elegance and a blend of the old and the new…something special and infinitely desirable… Cherubs works with these extremely talented craftsmen of national and international repute, blending their skills and expertise and modern ideas, creativity and designs to create beautiful and stylish products of exquisite quality. All products created are hand made and of excellent quality. Fully committed to promoting the crusade against child labour, it is ensured that underage labour is not employed at any stage of the work.
